You know how easy those Hot Pockets are to pop in the microwave?

Yeah, me too!

I won’t really go into detail about all of the horrible ingredients in these scrumptious bits of love. But I will share how you can quickly and easily make your own, with a few minutes of your time and with some much better, wholesome and way healthier ingredients!

Now, I’m not saying these are 100% wholesome . . . but I will say they are way better for you than the ones in the freezer section of the store. I know I sound a bit harsh, please don’t take it personally.

This is a new venture for me and my family, this trying to eat better. I am a label reader, oh my . . . and the things I have learned . . . well, some other post about that stuff!

Back to scrummy yummy pockets of goodness!

Okay, here goes, way simple, quick and easy!

 

You Need:

  • metal cookie sheets
  • your {heat-up-the-house} oven
  • butter crescent rolls
  • ham {sliced, cubed, chunked, any way you want it}
  • shredded cheddar cheese

 

Directions: Each container of crescent rolls holds 8. So each recipe will only make you 4 ham and cheese pockets. Need more? Increase your ingredient list accordingly. Pre Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Open your container of crescent rolls and unroll the dough. Divide the dough into 4 even square sections (usually 2 triangles worth). Lay out your dough squares onto your black iron cookie sheets.

 

 

Add you ham and cheese to one side of the dough.


Fold over the remaining dough to cover the ham and cheese, tucking the ingredients inside the best you can. Take your fingers and mash the open ends of the dough so that it will seal together nicely.

 

 

Once you are finished putting the ham and cheese pockets together, pop them in the oven for about 7-9 minutes. The edges will be slightly browning and they will have puffed up a little.

 

 

Remove the pockets from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes, then serve warm.

 

 

Once you have tried these you will want to eat them more and more! We have tried turkey and cheese, straight cheese, and we look forward to making more yumminess in the future with these versatile crescent rolls.
