I have recently fallen in love with a violinist……don’t get me wrong, I am SO in LOVE with Hubby, but wow, this man is seriously a talent to behold!
David Garrett plays a mean violin, and has since he was 4 years old. Ummm, really?! God has blessed this man with an incredible talent. He can play classical music to hard rock and I LOVE it all! ** Note to any family, this is a GREAT idea for a Christmas gift! **
This is only one of a ton that he plays, but it seems fitting that it is a Christian song and means so much to me personally.
I can say without a doubt that this is one song that reminds that I can only do it all with His help. Just goes along with my favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
If you haven’t heard the actual song, here is a version that has made this song very popular, Josh Groban does wonderful justice to the written words!
(I apologize for the horrible language of some of the commenters on the the Josh Groban video link.)
Here are the lyrics to this beautiful and inspiring song:
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
There is no life – no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
Be blessed today,
