A Soul Longing for More…..oh, so much more.
With All My Heart….
I choose to be a #YesToGod woman.
I just joined up with Proverbs 31 Ministries and Melissa Taylor in studying What Happen When Women Say Yes to God by Lysa TerKeurst that just started this past week.
Our Bible verse for the week is as follows:
Deuteronomy 6:5 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”
Loving God With All My Heart means that there isn’t enough room for all of the “things” I have on my heavy, loaded down, piled too high, teeny, tiny plate. That something has to “give”.
Hmmmm, give…..giving up anything almost puts me in a panic, mama…well, almost.
Over the past week I have come to realize the more I put into God, the more He decides to give me. I think that I think too much and that no matter how over loaded my plate is, I can let go of a few things.
Do I really need to be online as much as I am?
Do I need to be the go to woman for everyone that needs something done?
Do I need to be caught up on the latest TV show?
How many more important things are there for me? And what items would be more beneficial of my time if I said “yes” to them instead?
Would my husband be happier if I spent more one on one with him? YES
Would my kids be happier to play a game (or two or three) of cards with them? YES
Would my sisters like for me to call them more often? YES
Would ANY of these things be “too much”……NO
So, with a renewed spirit and a “YesToGod” attitude, I am giving up some of my vices and handing them over to God. This way I clear my plate and am freeing up time to be “on call” for the Lord.
With All My Heart I yearn to be a Proverbs 31 woman….
With All My Soul I yearn to hear, “Well done” from my Father…
With All My Strength I yearn to be the “hands of my Father” to my family and community…
I choose to be a “Yes to God” woman. Starting Right Now.
During our Facebook #YesToGod Party the other day I was blessed to read a post by a woman named Jennifer. I asked her if I could share this and I hope you can see why. It touched me deeply and I hope her words will impact you as well. Here is what Jennifer wrote:
“I shared this in my small group, but felt lead to share it here as well. This has been my research so far with chapter 1.
I wanted to share some verse mapping I did. I chose the verse for the week.
Deut. 6:5, “Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, ALL your soul and ALL your mind.”
I all-capped ALL because that to me seemed like the most important word. This verse is mentioned again in Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27 and later in Deuteronomy again in 10:12. A total of 5 times (that I could find) this verse was restated. In reading all of those I found this verse, these words were “the greatest commandment” (Mt 22:38). For the one who created us that’s not really a lot to ask. I mean… I kinda expect my kids to love me completely lol
So I looked up the definition of the word ALL. “the whole of; the greatest possible; every” And below that listed synonyms, “complete, entire, wholly, outright, greatest.” That was profound but more profound to me was the antonyms. “incomplete, zero, none.”
Incomplete. If I can’t give it ALL I give incompletely. That made me pause.”
Wowzers….Speaks straight to my heart.
With. ALL. My. Heart.
Blessings to you each and every day,

Hi Sue! Thank you for “getting” the post. I’m so glad that I am not the only one with too much on her plate, lol. Thanks for stopping by!

Wow, I love how practical your post was. You are so right about the things I could take off of my plate. I also loved how the things you would add to your plate are not really HUGE things but they are the things God calls you to do. I often feel He calls me to do such “little” acts of grace and kindness each day and I am always busy looking for something monumental. Thank-you so much for reminding me about priorities and what is important in God’s eyes!!

Morning Beth! Oooh, thank you for the prayers….I can use all of those I can get, lol! I am thrilled to be on this journey with such a lovely bunch of women. My vices are numerous and I am trying to let the lest of those fall away…thank you for the encouraging words, I sure do appreciate them! Blessings to you!

Callie- what a wonderful post! Let me tell you- the things you listed as keeping you from giving Him you ALL are mine too. It is so easy to get caught up in time wasters and not use the time we have in the way we should. I also love your YES list!!! Will be praying for you as you give up some of your “vices” in order to enable yourself to give Christ your all!!
Isn’t this study Amazing!!! So excited that you decided to be a part of it!!
