It is an honor and a privilege to be able to review this book, The Virtuous Life of a Christ-Centered Wife by Darlene Schacht, author of the Time-Warp Wife Blog.
I have been reading Darlene’s blog for well over a year now and I am always so impressed with her Biblical knowledge of being a Godly wife. So you can imagine my elation when she actually emailed me in response to my asking (well, pretty much begging and pleading) email about reviewing her newest book! YES, YES, YES!
And I knew I would love it and Wowie Wow Wow…this book is spot on with everything about being a virtuous wife!
Darlene gives a quick overview of the selected virtues she writes about in this book. They are as follows:

- Diligence
- Patience
- Kindness
- Humility
- Faith
- Forgiveness
- Joy
- Passion
- Radiance
- Encouragement
- Balance
- Goodness
- Trustworthy
- Courage
Oh my, so many of these are so valuable and important in being the wife that God is calling me to be. I am so grateful that Darlene was led to write more than just her blog posts about virtues. I appreciate that she gives such a Biblical insight into these virtues. I also am a true fan of the way she writes! She draws you into her life and shows you that she too struggles with life and how it should be handled, not just spitting out facts and Bible verses. I get her writing, like she is the girl next door, and she makes me see that each of us struggle with certain issues. That each of us yearn to be the best wife that our Heavenly Father has called us to be.
Each of the 18 lesson is written about one virtue, each is given a background story then some Biblical principles sprinkled thoughout. She ends each lesson with the S.O.A.P. method of devotional learning (which I learned about here).
With all of the books out there in regards to being a wife of Godly character and such, this one is another one to add to your list of practical and continual use.
