If you haven’t noticed a time or two already, I am a fan of Pinterest. I actually am on there just enough to aggravate myself…ya know why? Because I tend to compare myself to all of these other mamas that manage to get stuff done. All the while, I’m sitting in my seat poking around saying things like, “I could do that!” (saving to pin board), “Really?! That is waaay to easy!” (saving to pin board)…..get the picture?!
I save more articles and how to’s like you wouldn’t believe!
Needless to say, on some occasions, I actually DO make it back to Pinterest and take the time to try some of the “things” I saved.
This time, I found my way to this post via Pinterest and I thought, surely it is as easy as it seems.
Guess what?! IT IS!!
On a trip to the grocery store I picked up an adorable purple (BPA free), holds no smell, plastic container, grabbed some whole milk and get to testing.
I have now made this recipe about 10 times and each time it gets better! My husband came home from a trip the other day and as I made his morning coffee he stated, “I sure miss your creamer while I’m gone.” (Seriously, isn’t he the sweetest?!)
Anyway, Really easy and REALLY easy to change also!
3 Ingredients Needed:
- whole milk (or creamer or half and half/ 2% milk / heavy whipping cream)
- one can of sweetened condensed milk
- vanilla extract
Now, my pretty purple container is 30 ounces so here is how I have broken down the amounts for the ingredients –
Directions:
In a mason or (or your favorite container), add in your 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk, 12oz (a cup and a half) of your milk (or your choice), and 1-1/2 teaspoons (or to taste) of your vanilla extract. Screw the lid on tightly and shake, shake, shake. Shake for a good 3-5 minutes so that all of your ingredients are well mixed.
Store in your fridge and use as you normally would, as much or as little.
The beauty of this homemade coffee creamer is the lack of garbage in the store bought ones. Now, don’t get me wrong, I seriously love some of those, BUT, if you can’t pronounce the ingredients, you probably shouldn’t be eating (or drinking) it anyway.
I have come up with a few different mixtures so far in my attempt, so here are some alternatives you might like, just follow the amounts listed above.
Almond Coffee Creamer:
- whole milk
- sweetened condensed milk
- almond extract
Chocolate Almond Coffee Creamer:
- whole milk
- sweetened condensed milk
- Hershey’s chocolate syrup (about 2-3 tablespoons, you need to cut the milk a bit so it all fits)
- almond extract
{Knock Off GSC} Mint Chocolate Coffee Creamer
- whole milk
- sweetened condensed milk
- Hershey’s chocolate syrup
- peppermint extract
{Knock OFF GSC} Coconut Coffee Creamer
- whole milk
- sweetened condensed milk
- coconut extract
- a smidge of vanilla extract
- Hershey’s chocolate syrup
This will keep for a week in the fridge and the best alternative to a healthier me (and hubby!).
Also, as a mama, this is a much better way to share cambric tea (a teensy bit of coffee and loads of creamer) with my kids. I know that the stuff going in is so much better for their growing bodies.
I will update the list of variable versions as soon as I test out some more, until then, holler if you find an alternate version you like!
In His Grace.

Ohhh, I love this! I have been meaning to start making my own creamer for awhile. Now I can just save this page and open it right up on my phone when it’s time to mix and have different variations all right there. Thank you!
