The Book – Murder Freshly Baked
Middleburg, Indiana is a small town where Englischer (English) and Amish live in harmony, most of the time. The Amish Village is a beautiful complex that houses a hotel with restaurant and numerous small businesses. Some of the businesses are Amish run, others are English run but for the most part, the area is a wonderful place to live and visit.
That is until a local resident is shot in the street. Oh, and there have been issues with the local baked goods for the past month too…so don’t eat any of the pies, or you might be next…
Amber Bowman and Hannah Troyer are smack dab in the middle of another terrible time at the Amish Village. The mayhem that has surrounded the Village is being stirred up yet again and causing the amateur sleuths to loss sleep and question everyone.
Amber has been holding a secret and if she doesn’t get help soon, she might actually crack under the pressure. Something that has never happened before. She is being help captive by emails that are being sent and she fears telling anyone the real reason she is so frazzled. Can she finally trust the ones that love her the most with her deepest fears or will the emails finally come true?
Meanwhile Hannah is trying to plan her wedding to Jesse and also help Mary plan her wedding to Andrew. A Double wedding is a daunting task yet Hannah feels that her friendship with Amber is a top priority also. Will this Poison Poet cancel the wedding plans or will they catch the trouble maker in time?

Because this time, Amber and Hannah might run out of time before the murderer strikes again.
My Thoughts
Oooooh, I LOVED this one! I have read the first two books in this series and thoroughly loved them too, but this one, this one takes the cake…ummm, or pie.
The story is laid out differently than the others and that sets it apart. The book starts with the murder then goes back 4 weeks to where the whole story begins. Knowing what is going to happen than the traversing through the backstory that leads up to the murder, well, it was a nice twist and I enjoyed it so very much!
Murder Freshly Baked is another book that I would recommend to my friends and readers because it is so well written. I have come to love the main characters and feel like they are family. I cry, I laugh, I rejoice, and I am saddened by the many ups and downs that the author leads the characters through.
The truth and grace that Vannetta Chapman writes into her stories always leaves me with some hope for humanity. That there truly are still wonderful people in the world, and all hope is not lost. Murder notwithstanding, family trumps everything. And, family is not always blood relations…God makes us all family.
Once again, I am so excited to share this Amish murder mystery with you because I have yet to find such entertaining, in depth, and fabulous story writing in this genre.
So, so good! Make sure to grab the first and second book too, you don’t want to miss them!
