Okay y’all – it is that time of year when we are in a last minute scrabble to figure out what we are taking to Thanksgiving dinner. Or in my case, Thanksgiving Day. We spend from breakfast until late at night with family. And this year, y’all, we are expecting 50 people to join in the fun! And that is just my family and ALL of my sister’s and their families!! So. Much. Fun. So this year, I am taking the say way out, I am making treats that are fun, easy (my favorite!!), cute, and oh so yummy! Turkey Pretzels. No joke. These are so easy you are not even going to believe it!
I hope you enjoy these as they are so much fun to make. I’m even going to let my kiddos help make these. . . or let them make them for themselves! That’s an even better plan, don’t ya think?
What’s Needed for Turkey Pretzels
- Hershey Kisses
- Tiny twist pretzels
- Candy leaves/acorns
- Candy eyes
Directions for Turkey Pretzels
Preheat oven to 170 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Place pretzels on parchment paper.
Unwrap Hershey kisses and place a whole kiss upside down in bottom hole of the pretzel. (If the kiss has a hard time staying up then break off tip of kiss).
Cut other Hershey kisses in little pieces and place them in the top two holes of the pretzel.
Place in preheated oven for 2 minutes, just so the chocolate is softened.
Take out and immediately place three candy leaves on the top of the pretzel where the Hershey pieces melted.
Then place your eyes, nose, and wattle on. You can use a candy acorn or an orange leaf for the nose. Use a red leaf for the wattle.
Work quickly before the kisses start to set.
Place in refrigerator for 3-5 minutes to harden. They can also be left out on the counter to harden.
Store in airtight container.
These should last throughout the day, but I’m going to bet they don’t last too long!
Enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family and friends, and visit again soon for another fun recipe!
In His Grace,
Callie
