JORD, a company that makes wood watches with exquisite craftmasnamship and beauty. A watch company that I have admired from afar for quite some time. So can ya’ll imagine how delighted and thrilled I was that they contacted little ole me to review one of their amazing watches! No words to describe how tickled I was to get my new watch in the mail.
A little about JORD though before I get into the watch itself. I wasn’t completely sure how to even pronounce the name of the company at first, thank goodness they shared THIS video with me. So now that I knew how to pronounce the company’s name, that piqued my curiosity and sent me to goodle what lanuage JORD is from.
According to Google and Wikipedia (everyone’s best source of information, lol) the word JORD is from Old Norse.
Etymology – “Jörð is the common word for earth in Old Norse, as are the word’s descendants in the modern Scandinavian languages; Icelandic jörð, Faroese jørð, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian jord. It is cognate to English “earth” through Old English eorðe.”
Did you catch that? Ultimately, JORD means “earth”. Oh, did I forget to mention that this watch from JORD has a wooden band? Nope. I told you already. I’m just saying that they are absolutely brilliant.
Isn’t that watch magnificant? It is even better in real life ya’ll, so stunning!
A bit of background on this beauty:
“The Cora Polaris collection is a beautiful example of just how much our universe has to offer. Feminine design with all the subtle details. Every feature, from the dial to the bracelet, are an evolution in the way natural timepieces ought to be. Swarovski crystals adorn the exquisite vibrant turquoise dial to depict the Little Dipper. Gorgeous zebrawood is encased in hand-polished metal with 14ct gold tones. Charm worthy of her gaze.” via JORD
I have never been so pleased and content to stare at a watch as much I did this one. The dial is an unbelievble turquiose that seems to reflect every ray of light that hits it.
This Cora Polaris watch is one of the most elgant watches I have ever had the pleasure of owning. The weight of the watch is signifcant. Meaning I can tell it is on my wrist, threfore I am more consciense of it, which in turn means I glance at it often. And I am back where I started, pleased with how lovely this timepiece is to gaze upon.
More detailed size and techncial specs on this particular watch can be found here: Cora Polaris.
I have determined that even the act of the daily winding I must do that this watch is absolutely one of the best watches I have worn. The Zebrawood matches so flawlessly with the turquiose face and the gold accesnts around the face.
