This is a timely message for the craziness that has invaded our world recently and it is appropriate for both young people and adults. But let’s be real here, loneliness isn’t a new crisis that only showed up in 2020. The disconnect from people has been happening as long as the technology has allowed it.
We has humans are more connected via the internet and tech then we ever were but this book just proves that we are actually more DISconnected then ever before. People are lonely. As the book shares, we are created for interaction with other human beings. We are made for “doing life together”. We must build relationships and foster those relationships by BEING with there people.
The fact that we are encouraged to distance from others at the moment only increases the loneliness that is already an underlying problem. This disconnect allows for separation and as the Bible says, we are as one family. In my idea, that means we must as like a family, ie. sending time with each other, eyeball to eyeball – fully focused on one another.
In The Loneliness Solution Jack provides insight into the why and then offers practical solutions on how to correct the rising issue. We must seek out others and serve them in ways that respect them as the people God created them to be. Jack pointed out that some of the loneliest people were older adults and young people. There was a time that families lived together for many generations and that proved healthy for everyone in the family. the older family members had numerous other people to interact with on a daily basis. What kind of solutions can we provide that will allow for some important change in the lives of these members of our families?
We need to gather together around import events; births, deaths, church, social causes, etc . . . By doing so we are connecting on levels that create ties. If we agree on a subject of importance, we will make the time to be together, fighting for our beliefs and simply enjoying being with others.
As we are encouraged to distance remember that the ultimate goal of the devil is to separate and divide families. By removing physical contact and limiting it to technology and distance, there is no way to truly connect with others. And we are designed to be with others. the Bible says that Eve was created for Adam “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18 – We are created to be with others. We must take steps to overcome the ease of technology and make solid plans to attend service, go to the party, spend time with friends and family. They need it and so do we.
I am very pleased with Jack’s book and I enjoyed the fact that he provided practical questions at the end of each chapter. This allowed me to go deeper into the section and truly understand just how important it is to fight the loneliness that many face each day.

My Final Thoughts
This is a book that we all need read. The loneliness of people has skyrocketed even more during this time and sadly because of this loneliness so has the suicide rate. People are more lonely now than we have even been before. This book is a simple and easy way to find solutions to this terrible epidemic.
I hope you agree that we as one of God’s greatest creations can take these ideas and bring back the family unit and find ways to include others that need us too.
