Homemade Cheese Pizza Rolls
So easy you will not believe me.
I know. Who has time to make things from scratch? But remember that sometimes it creates memories instead of creates convenience.
So, I saw a post on Pinterest (surprised? you shouldn’t be, lol) the other day, a recipe hack that I thought I should try.
It seemed fairly simple. So, at the next grocery store excursion, I picked up the needed ingredients.
No question about it. My kids thought I was a genius and I scored another recipe that I made up and completed with success (almost all on my own!).
So, grab a pin (or print the recipe via that convenient print button at the bottom of the post, lol) and make an extra purchase or two next time at the store. You will score big on the mama rocks scale. Promise!
Ingredients:
- 2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- 1 jar of pre-made pizza sauce
- 1 package of individually packaged mozzarella string cheese sticks
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375º F. Cut your string cheese stick into 4 pieces, set aside. Open one can of crescent rolls and unroll and separate them. Using a soup spoon, take and smear about a 1/2 teaspoon of sauce on one of the unrolled crescent rolls, up by the fat end. Add one piece of cheese to the roll, then roll the crescent as you normally would.
The sauce makes the roll a bit harder to roll up, because it makes it slimy, but do the best you can to close up the crescent roll. Put it on your cookie sheet.
(Sorry, the picture is a little blurry! I almost forgot to take it! LOL)
Continue to make the rest of the crescent rolls and then put them in the oven to bake.
Your Cheese Pizza Rolls will need to bake for between 10-12 minutes or just until they start to brown on top. Don’t leave them too long otherwise they will burn on the bottom and be no bueno.
Let them cool for a few minutes (if you can get the kiddos to wait that long!) before eating them. That cheese inside is HOT!!
I hope you enjoy this newest easy peasy recipe and let me know if you add any goodies or just use the pizza sauce!
In His Grace.
Callie
