Apple Delight is just that, a delight! Yummy cake made with baking mix and apple pie filling.
A delicious breakfast or anytime treat!
Ingredients
- 2 cups baking mix (I used Jiffy brand)
- 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk (I used 2%)
- 1 21oz can of apple pie filling
- Bundt pan
Topping ingredients
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
Pre heat your oven to 400 degrees F
Melt your butter (I used my microwave and my Pyrex measuring cup) and mix in your cinnamon and sugar, stir until your sugar mostly dissolves. Add it to your Bundt pan. Take a basting brush and coat the inside of your Bundt pan with the mixture, making sure to coat the flute in the middle.
The rest of the liquid will pool in the bottom of your pan. Once baked, it will be a topping or crust of sorts for your cake.
In a large bowl add your baking mix, sugar and cinnamon, using a wire whisk or a fork, mix together. Add in your milk and egg and mix until well blended. (This was mixed by hand, about 30 strokes.)
Take your batter and add 1/3 of it to your pan, covering the liquid in the bottom.
Open your can of apples and add them over the batter you just laid in the pan. Try to cover your batter evenly with the apples. Now take the rest of your batter and pour it into your pan, covering the apples.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 30-35 minutes until it is golden brown. Check with a toothpick to make sure it is completely down. When your toothpick comes out clean it is considered done. Do not push the toothpick all the way through, you will hit the apple pie filling and it will give you a false reading.
Turn out your cake onto your serving plate.
You can top with vanilla ice cream or cool whip for added yumminess!
