After I made this dessert Hubby said, “Babe, this is like apple pie and cheesecake at the same time!”
This is a fantastic recipe that I have, once again, amended to suit my family’s likes. I found the inspiring recipe here.
Delicious and fairly easy to make, here you go:
Ingredients
2 cups crushed graham crackers
1 stick plus 1 tablespoon melted butter
1 can of condensed milk
1 (8 oz) package of room temperature, softened cream cheese
4 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 can apple pie filling (diced small)
sprinkle of cinnamon/sugar
Directions
Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
Crush your graham crackers into very tiny pieces. (A great way to do this is to put them into a gallon sized sealed bag and use a rolling pin.)
Melt your butter and combine with your graham crackers. Press this mixture into the bottom of your pan. I used a square 8×8 pan but a deep pie pan should work just fine too.
Open your can of apple pie filling and using a knife and fork, cut up the apple slices into smaller pieces.
In a stand mixer or hand mixer put your cream cheese and milk, blend until completely combined creating a very smooth consistency, about 3 minutes of blending.
Add in lemon juice and condensed milk and blend completely.
Pour this mixture over top of the graham crackers and spread evenly in your pan.
Top with your diced apple pie filling.
Bake for 18-20 minutes until the edges start to turn golden brown and your cheesecake portion starts to look a little spongy.
Sprinkle some cinnamon/sugar on the top of your dessert for a finished look. (The photo shows only cinnamon, but it is better with a blend of cinnamon/sugar.)
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
This is so fantastic once it has been chilled, I seriously cannot believe that it is a good as I had hoped!
Are you a fan of apple pie and/or cheesecake? What is your favorite way to make them?
Be blessed today and everyday,
