It was one of those days yesterday.
Ya know, the day where your good intentions fled pretty much as soon as the floor creaked indicating someone was up for the day.
The day where the first bad mood that met you was within minutes of the arrival of a sleepy headed child.
The day where the bickering started way earlier than normal.
The day where daddy wasn’t home to help keep the boat from drifting so far off course that you felt abandoned at sea.
The day where I intentionally studied about mercy during my quiet time with the Lord.
Yeah….
It’s was that kind of day yesterday.
So, my flesh won more times yesterday than my “be the best mama I can be because of Christ” side did.
I fussed.
I fumed.
I hollered.
I pouted.
I ranted.
I cried.
I stomped.
I argued.
I criticized.
I was definitely not the best mama I could be.
Ugh…not even close.
Mercy
Yea…I am really grateful for mercy.
Mercy
Compassionate or kindly forbearance (refraining from something; patient endurance; self-control)
To mitigate (to lessen in force; to make less severe) punishment
An act of kindness, compassion (a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering) or favor
Something that gives evidence of divine (proceeding from God) favor (goodwill; a kind act); blessing
Since I totally missed the mark on ANY of those things in regards to my personal stinky attitude and flagrant disregard to others and their feelings, I for one am over joyed that I can make it a new day today.
Lamentations 3:22-24
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
So many days I fail but each morning I am so grateful that I can rise again and be renewed and refreshed and I can try One.More.Time.
