If you remember back a ways, I introduced you to Roscoe, our older but reliable tractor that we bought second-hand.
Well, not every thing bought second-hand is in good condition, think “lemon” y’all. Poor old Roscoe up and died not too long into summer last year. And we were in desperate need of a tractor to keep the wilds of our pasture at bay. The brambles, thrones, and small trees would not stay down. We were in deep trouble.
Soooo, we bit the bullet and sprung for a brand new tractor from the same company, Massey Ferguson, and without further ado I would like to share that we have a new friend on the homestead, Melvin.
This isn’t our Melvin, we’ve been so busy I haven’t taken a decent picture of him yet, but this is the exact model. And yes we even got the bucket attachment. My husband is beyond thrilled, he’s like a kid with a new toy!
We managed to get the entire pasture area of our land bush hogged last season and it is amazing the difference.
Last year as we tackled the pasture:
This year as we maintain the pasture (and our to-be backyard):
More to come in our homesteading adventures!
Y’all aren’t going to believe all of the things we are doing, stick around for more posts about out homesteading (wannabe) life.
In His Grace.
Callie
